We are pleased to announce that Chris Hill will be our guest speaker at our club dinner meeting on Thursday, September 24th at 6:00 pm at the Alta Club. Chris is the former University of Utah Athletic Director, and recent author of a book highlighting particularly Rick Majerus and Urban Meyer. Chris will be quite insightful and entertaining on some past and present challenges with college athletics.
Chris served as the University of Utah’s Athletic Director for nearly three decades, helping guide one of the most successful periods in the university’s athletic history. During his tenure, Utah enjoyed remarkable success across numerous sports, including football’s rise to national prominence under coaches such as Urban Meyer and Kyle Whittingham, and memorable basketball seasons led by Rick Majerus.
Chris recently authored a book, “Thirty-one Years In The Front Row,” that offers a behind-the-scenes look at his career in college athletics, including fascinating stories and insights about legendary coaches Rick Majerus and Urban Meyer. Drawing on decades of experience, he will share his unique perspective on the evolution of college athletics, the changing landscape of college sports, leadership, conference realignment, NIL, the transfer portal, and many of the challenges and opportunities facing universities today.
