We are excited to have Royal Hansen, Jr. address us for our November club meeting. He is the Vice President of Privacy, Safety, and Security at Google Alphabet. In this critical role, Mr. Hansen leads the central engineering function that builds and scales the foundational technology protecting billions of users around the world, tackling everything from cybersecurity threat detection to advanced privacy-enhancing techniques.Prior to joining Google, Royal built a deep foundation in financial-services cybersecurity, with leadership roles at American Express—where he was Executive Vice President of Enterprise IT Risk and Information Security—then at Goldman Sachs as Managing Director of Technology Risk and Application Security, and earlier still at other firms including Morgan Stanley and Fidelity Investments.
