We are delighted to have Morgan Scalley, Ute Football Defensive Coordinator/Head Coach in Waiting, speak to us on Thursday, January 23rd at 6:00 pm at the Alta Club. A distinguished figure in collegiate football, Morgan has been an integral part of the University of Utah’s football program for over two decades. A former All-American safety for the Utes from 2001 to 2004, he earned accolades such as Mountain West Co-Defensive Player of the Year and was a two-time Academic All-American. Transitioning seamlessly into coaching, he began as an administrative assistant in 2006 and ascended to the role of defensive coordinator by 2016. Under his leadership, Utah’s defense has consistently ranked among the nation’s elite, with the team finishing second nationally in total defense in 2019.
In July 2024, the University of Utah announced Scalley as the head coach-in-waiting, positioning him to succeed Kyle Whittingham upon his retirement. This decision underscores the university’s confidence in his leadership and vision for the program’s future. Beyond his professional achievements, Scalley is known for his commitment to the principles of RSNB—Relentless, Smart, Nasty, Ballhawks—which define the identity of Utah’s defense.
Please join us for an informative and enjoyable evening together!
